The Cosmetic Joint Lab is a digital platform created to simplify the connection between companies that cannot innovate on their own and those that can offer innovative solutions to specific challenges. Its aim is to foster innovation among European SMEs by building a strong network of laboratories that provide knowledge, expertise, infrastructure, and know-how, supporting companies that lack the capacity to do so independently.
Through the CJLab, enterprises can identify the right laboratory partner for product or process innovation, access cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with experts in formulation, testing, packaging, and sustainability. The platform acts as a bridge between research and industry, promoting cross-border cooperation and accelerating the adoption of digital and green solutions across the cosmetics value chain.
Ultimately, the Cosmetic Joint Lab contributes to the creation of a more competitive, sustainable, and resilient European cosmetics ecosystem, where innovation becomes accessible to all companies, regardless of their size or resources.
The Cosmetic Joint Lab operates entirely online.
The company identifies a specific issue or thematic area it wants to explore—whether related to circular economy, natural dyeing, sustainable ingredients, or innovative processes for product development. Within this platform, your company can find the most suitable partners to bring your idea to life. Each Innovation Partner has its own dedicated page on the platform, where detailed information is available. Based on this information, companies can identify the most relevant and valuable labs for their innovation needs and initiate a conversation to explore potential collaborations.
Once both parties align on a shared vision and define what is feasible, the co-creation process begins.
For an SME, starting an innovation process independently can be challenging. High costs, lack of expertise, and insufficient infrastructure often lead to unsustainable expenses, which may prevent the project from ever starting.
With the Cosmetic Joint Lab, this is no longer a problem. SMEs can build valuable networks with companies or laboratories that already possess a wealth of expertise and infrastructure, enabling them to bring their ideas to life. This means that while companies may have the idea, they don’t necessarily need to own the infrastructure or have the technical know-how to realize it.
Another key aspect is that once the innovation is complete, the company retains the patent. This means you own the invention that you and the laboratory have created together.
The Innovation Partner benefit from participating. Your lab can gain new clients and build a strong network with cosmetic companies across Europe. In addition, each lab will have its own dedicated page showcasing its most relevant achievements. New companies and partners will reach out to you with needs and challenges, and your laboratory—upon payment—will develop innovative solutions tailored to them.
